General keywords may drive traffic to your site, but will be useless in converting a visitor into a consumer. You have to figure out exactly which keywords create the most traffic and sales for your business. Rather than figuring out which keywords are the most popular generally, focus on which keywords are best for your specific audience.
3. Know your audience
If you’re going to create the right keywords, you must know your audience. It’s imperative to know who you’re targeting and in turn tailor your content specifically for that person. Addressing the content on your website to a specific demographic can create more sales rather than having a bunch of visitors simply click on a link and not buy anything.
4. Keep your site user friendly
No user wants to arrive at a website to see blocks and blocks of text. Nobody is going to be willing to take the time to scroll through all of that text to find what they’re looking for. It’s important to keep in mind that what doesn’t get read doesn’t get clicked on. Rather than reading entire sentences, users pick out specific words or phrases. You want to grab the attention of the consumer rather than overwhelm them with information.
5. Sell the benefits, not the features
Focusing on telling the user how your product will benefit them will help in increasing your amount of sales. Instead of merely mapping out the features of your product, make it relevant to the consumer by relating it to them. Should they purchase this product, what’s in it for them? You must translate the features into concrete benefits. This is what will trigger prospective customers into buying your service or product.
